On Sunday, May 18, the 2025 Women In Motion Award was presented to Nicole Kidman during the official Women In Motion Awards Ceremony at the Place de la Castre by François-Henri Pinault, Chairman and CEO of Kering, Iris Knobloch, President of the Festival de Cannes, and Thierry Frémaux, General Delegate of the Festival de Cannes.
Rising Brazilian director Marianna Brennand received the Emerging Talent Award, honoring her bold vision and promise as a new, powerful voice in global cinema.
Kering also welcomed back six former recipients of the Emerging Talent Award: Gaya Jiji (2016), Maysaloun Hamoud (2017), Carla Simón (2018), part of the official selection with Romería, in competition, Eva Trobisch (2019), Shannon Murphy (2021), Ninja Thyberg (2022), and Amanda Nell Eu (2024). Guests included Isabelle Huppert, Salma Hayek Pinault, Julianne Moore, Paul Mescal, Coralie Fargeat, Charli XCX, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Daisy Edgar-Jones, Charlotte Le Bon, Guillermo del Toro, Dakota Johnson, Julia Ducournau, Julia Garner, Chie Hayakawa, Pierre Niney, Costa-Gavras, Amélie Bonnin, Virginie Efira, Carla Bruni, Vicky Krieps, Sean Penn, Jameela Jamil, Zhang Linghe, Elodie Bouchez, Tessa Thompson, and Camélia Jordana. Drawing the evening to a close, French singer-songwriter Clara Luciani took the stage to perform some of her most iconic songs. A ionate advocate for women, Luciani is a long-standing friend of Kering and a committed ambassador for the Maison des Femmes in Marseille—an organization ed by the Kering Foundation since 2016. Her artistic sensibility and dedication to women’s causes reflect the very essence of Women In Motion, and her performance was the perfect conclusion to this anniversary celebration.
