Her parents run a bar and she attends a prestigious Parisian School, where she meets Gladys, the daughter of two intellectual Argentinean Jewish exiles.Through the songs of that era and the books that Stella discovers at her friend's house, she slowly enters another dimension - real life.

Having won acclaim for her short films: Entre Chiens et loups (Canal+ Prize at the Clermont-Ferrand Festival, 1992) and La Maison verte (Jury Prize in Nancy, 1993), she then wrote and directed her feature film, Brother, which was selected by the 50th Cannes IFF in the section «Cinemas in ».
